O.D. Prather Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Memorial services for Mr. O.D. Prather, age 84 of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, Dubach, LA on Sunday, December 8, 2013. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:30 till services time at the Church. On November 30, 2013, Mr. O.D. Prather went to be with The Lord. He was born April 3, 1929 in Eunice, LA. O.D. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prather. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Clyde, Lewis, Lodis Prather and one sister Lula Mae Miller. O.D. was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a Masters Degree in Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served in the U.S. Army while stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Churches O.D. served as Minister of Music include First Baptist Church, Dubach, LA, Pisgah Baptist Church in Bernice, LA, First Baptist Church Morgan City, LA from which he retired after serving nearly 30 years. After retirement from full time ministry he was owner of The Music Gallery of Ruston for 15 years. O.D. loved his family and loved serving The Lord and ministering to people. O.D. is survived by his wife, Beverly Colvin Prather; son: Keith Prather and wife Susan; daughter: Lana Prather Baker and her husband Clifton; grandson: Jesse Prather and wife Kristin; granddaughters: Molly Prather, Meredith Baker Bingham and husband, Brandon, Julia Baker; great granddaughter: Serena Prather; and brothers: Ray and Edwin Prather.
