Graveside services for Norma Ellen Emory, 86, of West Monroe will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 10:00 AM Rev. Jerry Salisbury will officiate. Mrs. Emory was born on Jan. 27th, 1935 and passed from this life on April 26th at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe.
Mrs. Emory was a member of Welcome Home Church of God in West Monroe. She was a homemaker, excellent cook and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. To be lucky enough to eat her homemade hot pickles or banana pudding was a true pleasure. She was proud of her family and loved to show that through her wonderful made from scratch meals. Mrs. Emory graduated from West Monroe High School in 1954 and married the love of her life, Edwin Emory. Together they raised a family that she and her husband were very proud of.
Mrs Emory was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Emory, Sr. , her beloved son Ken Emory, her parents, Herschel and Lenora Thornton, her brothers, Clell, Danny, Gerald and Bud Thornton, her brothers-in-law Jerry Emory and Billy Banks, her sisters-in-law, Patsy Banks and Rosie Thornton.
Survivors include a son Eddie Emory and wife Melinda, daughter Lisa Emory, daughter-in-law Shari Emory, brother Bo Thornton and wife Gaye, sister Nelda Hendrix, special son Brad Gilmore, grandchildren Hannah Emory of Calhoun, Kris Shroeder of Calhoun and Somer Sykes and husband Jerry of West Monroe, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt words of thanks to the Doctors, nurses and supporting staffs of Glenwood Regional Medical Center, Cornerstone Rehabilitation Hospital and Ridgecrest Community Care, West Monroe.
