Nita Ann Day Miller died peacefully in her home on February 21, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. She was 75 years old. Ann was born on February 7, 1947, in Kilgore, TX to Elzy Daniel(E.D.) Day and Mattie Rogers Day. She also lived in Chandler, OK before settling in Marion, LA. Ann was in high school when she met TJ. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in June 2021.
Ann spent many years keeping the books for the logging business, but her passion was playing the piano. Ann played the piano and organ at Marion United Methodist Church for many years along with teaching piano lessons to many children in the community. She loved organizing events such as her piano recitals, political events, community events, and never turned down planning a party.
Ann was an avid member of the D’Arbonne chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed attending meetings for the Monroe Garden Club. Ann worked for CenturyLink for 10 years before retiring back home to spend time with her grandkids and attend their ballgames and school activites. She loved her canasta group and all appointments were scheduled around “card day”. Ann and TJ enjoyed spending time near the water whether it be their camp on the Ouachita River or their annual beach trip.
Ann is survived by her husband Thomas Joe(TJ); her son Christopher(Chris) and wife Jackie; her daughter Leah Dougan and husband Darren; her four grandsons Jackson Miller, Jared Miller, Dillon Dougan and Drew Dougan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
