Mrs. Neva Price Maples Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mrs. Neva ¨Doopy Price Maples will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Lynn Johnson. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Neva ¨Doopy Price Maples, age 70, of West Monroe, LA died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Glenwood IASIS Hospital. Doopy was born on September 10, 1936 in Monroe. She was a member of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene. She was also a graduate of the Monroe Business School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Maples, Sr.; her mother, Del Price; her father, Fred Price and a sister, Sally Duffey. She is survived by a daughter, Juli Maples Young; sons, Bobby ¨Shockit Maples, Jr. and Berry Maples and wife Donna; granddaughter, Jessica ¨Jess Young and grandson, Matthew Jon-Thomas Maples all of West Monroe; sister, Terry Garoby and husband John and numerous nieces and nephews. Doopy was retired after 19 years as an accounts payable clerk at the Ouachita Parish School Board which she remembered as some of the happiest years of her life. Everyone who knew Doopy knew of her quick wit and loved her sense of humor. She was also known for her great perseverance which helped her bravely fight her courageous battle with renal failure. She deeply loved her children and they were her heart. But her greatest joy in life was being ¨Granny to Jess and ¨Meme to Matthew. The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care provided for their mother by the doctors, nurses and staff at Cornerstone, Glenwood, St. Francis Hospitals, Ouachita Dialysis and the Northeast Louisiana Kidney Specialists, and especially the Monroe Manor Nursing Home and Dr. Michael Hand. Pallbearers will be Mike Broom, Lee Duffey, Tiger Garoby, Bo Taylor, Roy Davis and Willie Draughn, Ritchie Garrett and Louis Fontana. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 9:00PM, Monday, February 19, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
