Nettie Maxwell passed away on February 27, 2020 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She moved to her Heavenly home and is now celebrating with her Lord Jesus Christ and her loved ones. She was born July 13, 1930 in Gilbert, Louisiana and left this world at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Arcadia, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, LV Maxwell, and lived in Monroe, Louisiana for all her married life. Together, they raised a daughter, Brenda Milton of Dubach and son, Steve Maxwell of Dallas, Texas. We were blessed to have such a sweet and loving Mom for so many years. She was our cheerleader, encourager, friend as well as a beautiful example of a loving wife to our Dad. She especially loved her four grandchildren giving each one their own attention with weeks during the summer at their home. She was known for making home-made biscuits every morning for as long as we can remember, enjoying game shows, especially “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She loved her Lord and prayed daily for her family. Other survivors include her son-in-law, Bryan Milton and daughter-in-love, Sharon Maxwell, her grandsons Brandon (wife, Kara) Milton, Josh Milton, Jared Milton and Nathan Maxwell and their children (Jacob, Perri, Faith, Max, Annah and Taylor). She was the remaining sibling of her parents, Willie and Mary Priest, predeceased by sister’s Mary Alice Lee, Dorothy Harber and Shirley Cobb, and brother, Huey Priest along with a half-brother, Elmo Priest and half-sister, Willie Lou Foy. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, Libby Priest, Vita Maxwell and Rita (Sissie) Powell and brothers-in-law, Mackie Cobb, Travis Maxwell and Tommy Powell.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Milton, Josh Milton, Jared Milton, Nathan Maxwell, Matt Carter and Keith Priest.
