Nettie Elizabeth Blackwelder, age 85, of Ruston, LA passed away March 19, 2020, in Ruston. She was born in Ruston on January 19, 1935, to Clarence and Lorraine Risinger.
Nettie was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She played the organ at Emmanuel and other churches for a number of years. She also was a piano and art teacher for many years. Nettie is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Oran Drexel Blackwelder.
She is survived by her son, Philip Blackwelder of Ruston, LA; daughter, Teresa Grace Blackwelder of Columbia, LA; and brother, John Risinger.
Due to the present climate of caution, a Private Graveside will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020.
