I am very sorry for your loss, and that I could not be there today with you children and grandchildren. I just found out about Nelda's passing today, 2:00 p.m. I am four months older than Nelda, and as her first cousin I have many happy memories of our growing up together so to speak, living only 20 miles apart. We would see each other at our homes in Sterlington and Farmerville, and at our grandparents' home in Sharon near Dubach. We were great friends, but mostly lost touch after college and marriage. The last time that we talked over the phone was probably 3 years ago. I tried to reach her after the flood in Sterlington and Monroe, but she never returned my call to the cell number that I last used for her. We saw each other once again 15 to 20 years ago in Sterlington and Farmerville. I guess that we never totally lost touch, having that binding tie of childhood and teenagers together. The last time that we talked we picked up right where we left off 50 or 60 years ago!! I am truly sorry that Nelda has passed. I have continued to think that we would pick right up again one day soon. But that will have to wait for a better world and a better time.
