Myrtle Avery Feazel, 87, of West Monroe, passed away on August 23, 2019. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 26, 2019 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M, Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes ~ West Monroe with Reverend Jim Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.Myrtle was born in Ruston, Louisiana on March 22, 1932 to Joel and Orlean (Doyal) Avery. She was preceded in death by her son, Truett Feazel; grandson, Daniel Feazel; her parents; six brothers and four sisters.In November of 1948, Myrtle married Jack Melvin Bud Feazel of West Monroe. They had three children, Truett, Charlotte, and Reba. In early 2015, health issues made it necessary for Myrtle to move to the West Monroe Guest House.From an early age, Myrtle was active in her church. Her children describe their mother as a jack of all trades when it came to taking care of her family and the household. Myrtle enjoyed cooking, canning, sewing for her girls and the public, quilting, crocheting, and many other handmade crafts. As the empty nest set in, Myrtle completed a cosmetology course and Bud added on to the house for Myrtle Beauty Shop. She treasured the friendships that came about because of this venture. As her retirement years began, the beauty shop was converted into a quilting parlor. It was just perfect for the friends who came to drink coffee and visit as they quilted. Her life was an example of love and faithfulness to all.Myrtle is survived by her husband of 70 years, Jack Bud Feazel; two daughters, Charlotte Coates and husband Chris of Downsville, Louisiana, Reba Ramsey and husband Jeanie Leroy of West Monroe, Louisiana; grandchildren, Sadie Feazel, Casey Feazel and Ashley Feazel of Tennessee, Christopher Feazel and wife Kendra of South Carolina, Jason Christy of Georgia, Julie Coates, Heather Gill and husband Gabe, Jared Ramsey and wife Amanda all of West Monroe, Louisiana; great-grandchildren, Darby Miles, Gracie Gill, Nora and Jed Lewis, Kasey Ramsey, Emma Ramsey, Noah Brewster, Keaton Brewster, Leann Watson, and Bryanna Watson; brother, Charles Avery of Arkansas; several cherished nieces, nephews and friends.Pallbearers are Mike Freeman, Glen Moore, Mickey Murphy, Billy Nugent, Julian Terrell, and Dewey Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Antley, Charles Beach, Stan Hufty, Bo Leporti, and Ricky Nolan.
