Funeral services for Melvalene Burroughs, 76, of West Monroe, will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 17, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Norman Riordan will be officiating. Interment to follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.Mrs. Burroughs was born March 6, 1939 in West Monroe, LA and died March 13, 2015 in West Monroe. Mrs. Burroughs was a member of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Geraldine Jordan, 2 sisters, Barbara Bearden and Linda Bearden, son-in-law James Jimmy Taylor and a nephew Tony Bearden.Mrs. Burroughs is survived by her husband, Jerry C. Burroughs; daughter, Angela Burroughs Taylor; granddaughter, Brandi Taylor Thomas and husband Mark; and great grandson and the light of her life, Riley Taylor Thomas; a foster child, Robert Heckford; brother, Deral Jordan; and an uncle Clarence Frost and wife Jimmie Sue.Pallbearers will be, Randall Taylor, Richard Tedeton, Mark Copeland, Brad Howard, Marvin Allen and James Ronnie Butler.Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time Tuesday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe.
