Launa Smith Hogan, at the age of 86, died of a lengthy illness on December 5, 2015, in West Monroe, LA, while surrounded by family. She was born and raised on a farm in Bienville Parish where religion and family were most important. Mrs. Hogan worked for the Ouachita Parish School Board for nearly 40 years as the Cafeteria Manager at Millsaps and Boley Elementary. She dearly loved her family, neighbors, and friends. She was a loving and caring woman that showed her love though her generosity and true concern for everyone. Mrs. Hogan is preceded in death by her husband J. W. Hogan, her parents, Johnnie E. Smith and Pearlie E. Anderson; her companion Charlie Reynolds, and brothers, Dudley Smith and Troy Smith. She is survived by siblings; Nellie Ruth Bartlett, and Roy D. Smith, sister-in-law, Elaine Steelman, brother-in-law, Truman Saterfield, two daughters; Jackie Freeman and husband Reggie, Linda Medaries, and five grandchildren; Mandy Medaries Wiggins, Minyon Medaries Leonard, Jay Freeman, Jeff Freeman and Jamie Freeman. Great grandchildren include Morgan Wiggins, Christian Gilley, Cayden Henry, Shelby Freeman, Jacob Freeman, Lexie Freeman, Bryant Leonard, Peyton Wiggins, and by many nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held for Mrs. Hogan at 10:00 a.m. December 9, 2015, at Ebenezer Cemetery on Hwy 4 in Jonesboro, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Clergy Joey Bartlett will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.Pallbearers will be Jay Freeman, Jeff Freeman, Wayne Wiggins, Jamie Freeman, Morgan Wiggins, Christian Gilley, Hunter Sullivan and John Sullivan.
