Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Marie Terrell age 91 will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Memorial United Methodist Church, Simsboro. Brother Eddie Rushing and Brother Danny Baskin will officiate. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Simsboro under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.Marie was born on June 10th 1926 to Elva Betsworth and John W. Carter in Canton, Oklahoma. She married Lester Terrell on March 31, 1946 and moved in 1958 making Louisiana their home where her husband took a job with TL James working on I-20.Marie entered Louisiana Poly Technical School in 1960 and graduated in 1963 and began teaching 4th grade the following year at Simsboro while raising a family as well. She was known and adored by all those who came in contact with her warm and infectious smile. Mrs. Terrell loved to play the piano and sing gospel hymns. She had a deep love for her family and church. One of her favorite things to do was eating sweets, especially Orangemarmalade jelly by thespoonfuls at times. Mrs. Terrell was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Simsboro and the Chapter of Eastern Star.Marie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester; daughter, Susan Terrell; sister, Ruth Kling; brothers, Milford, Russell, Emmett, John and Dean Carter; niece Velma Ruth.She is survived by daughter, Kathy Schubert and husband Roy Schubert of Simsboro; son James Terrell and girlfriend Sharon Dillingham; grandchildren, Andrew Schubert, Daniel Schubert, Jennifer Schubert, David Shubert, John Tabor, and Leia Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the Arbor and Terrace Nursing Home of Ruston and Premier Hospice Care for the exceptional care they have given Marie the last couple of years of her life and Rebecca for being so compassionate and understanding.Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, RustonOnline condolences may be made to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.Kilpatrick Funeral HomeRuston, LA

Prayers to Kathy and James. She went to Memorial United Methodist Church when I lived in simsboro. She was a sweet lady. God bless the family.

Mrs. Terrell, was the sweetest, most kindest lady, I think I have ever met She leaves a wonderful legacy of how you should treat others. Se will be missed by many.

Aunt Marie was so warm and loving, always. I do not remember her without a smile on her face. She always made me feel that she was glad to see me. She'll be greatly missed. Condolences to James and Kathy and the rest of the family.

Mrs Terrell was such a joy to be around each day I arrive at work the first person I look forward to seeing was my Mrs. Terrell. She will be truly missed...
