Funeral services for Kemmy Del McDonald, 66, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at McGuire United Methodist Church with Rev. Frances Hooton and Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paschal Catholic cemetery West Monroe. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church.

Kemmy was born November 2, 1953 in Monroe, LA and passed away March 9, 2020 in West Monroe. He was owner of Washington Street U-Pak-It and was a member of McGuire United Methodist Church.  Kemmy was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy McDonald.

Kemmy is survived by his wife, Vicky B. McDonald; sons, Ryan McDonald  and wife Laura, Andrew McDonald and fiancé, Kelsey Butler; mother, Mary Vivian Soignier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ivy Ralph and Margie Barnes; brother, Randall and Shirley McDonald; sisters, Ramona and Bill Aikens and Rebecca McDonald; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William (Sandy) and Judy Stevens; granddaughter, Aubrey Leigh McDonald; grandsons, Gavin Brooks McDonald and Maddox Ryne McDonald;  several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be L.C. Corkern, Jimmy Boyett, Reed Griffin, John Hanna, Diego Salguero, and Gary Stringer. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Aikens and Sandy Stevens.

Memorials may be made to McGuire United Methodist Church.

One day in 1992 I stopped into the Washington street upak it and got gas on my hands. I had just started a summer job in from college and did not like it at all. Mr. Kemmy began talking to me and asked if I would be interested in working there for the rest of the summer. I did and worked there every summer and holiday while I was in college. He even paid the church rental for my wedding. He was so good to me and treated his employees like family. For the next 25 years we would catch up when I came back into town. I was very fortunate to have found a friend in him. I was blessed that he was in my life. You will be truly missed. Your Mon Sheree’.

Our hearts are heavy over the loss of Kemmy, our good friend and neighbor/neighbor. We will miss our Northwood Circle neighbor of more than 40 years, the visits in the yard, the horn honk when he drove by. We'll miss our Lake Claiborne Camp neighbor, the waves as he passed by our dock on his jetski or pontoon, sometimes stopping to visit. Corky will miss his traveling buddy to Shreveport football games and their mutual love for Pepe's Chili Rellenos. And I'll never bake a fig cake again without thinking about him.
