Funeral services for Douglas “Mac” Whitton, 71, of Sterlington, LA, will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the chapel at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe. Rev. Marcelle Crowe and Rev. Rhonda Feurtado will officate. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.Mr. Whitton was born September 27, 1942 and passed away June 7, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a retired supervisor for Angus Chemical of Sterlington. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Reveille United Methodist Church in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arza and Olean Whitton; brothers, Arza Whitton, Glen Whitton and sister, Norma Dupree.Mr. Whitton is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne Osborne Whitton; daughters, Kimberly Whitton Velasquez and husband Caesar, Stacy Whitton King and husband Ken, Misty Whitton Roberts and husband Matt; sisters, Joan Corbin, Cherie Toney and husband Virgil, Lydia McLeland and husband Michael, and Susie Whitton; seven grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.Pallbearers will be Caesar Velasquez, Jonathan King, Virgil Toney, Kevin Whitton, Steve Whitton, and Olin Corbin. I always remember "Uncle Mac" for being a part of "Aunt Dianne". If you seen one, you seen the other, "Always"... He was probably the most dedicated husband and father that I can remember. I especially remember the way that He and Aunt Dianne danced. They were so in sync with each other and so elegant. The love poured out when they danced.
