Kilpatrick Funeral Home Farmerville, LA. Morris “Bud” Gilmore Services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Farmerville. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Auger. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in Farmerville City Cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville. Morris better known as Bud and sometimes as Casey was born on November 16, 1931 in Oakland, Louisiana to Mamie and W.L. Gilmore. He was the middle of three boys. After graduation from Marion High School he served in the air force. Later he graduated from Barber School in Little Rock where he met and married Patty Louise Taylor in 1957. They moved to Farmerville, Louisiana where he worked in the forestry business until he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmerville. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, W.L. Gilmore Jr., Max Gilmore and wife Edna and his son Monty Morris Gilmore. He is survived by Pat, his devoted wife of fifty five years and his daughter Cheryl Gilmore Huey and son-in-law Keith Huey. Granddaughters: Kara Huey and Rob Perodeau, Krista Huey and Robert Thomas and grandson Taylor Huey. Great grandchildren: Kylee and Tyner Perodeau and Rhett Thomas. Daughter and family through love, Peggy Allen Rogers and sons Judd, Tate, and Thad Allen and a very special friend Sheila Teaster Ginn. After a four year courageous battle with cancer he went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 23, 2012 and reunite with his son after thirty two years apart. Bud humbly described himself as just a “good ole' boy”. That's true and he was much more than that. Bud was the best of men. His patience, loving, caring and humor best describes him. Pallbearers will be Judd Allen, Thad Allen, Max Von Hearn, Bob Hanry, Ken Cooper, Courtney Hatten, Billy Garris, and Gary Albritton. Special Thanks to Hospice Compassus, especially Nicole and Otis whom he looked forward to their care. Thanks to all the special friends who showed and love in many ways that are so appreciated. The Farmerville drug coffee group was the highlight of his day. Their faithful continued support during his later days at home were uplifting. I will cherish the wonderful life-long memories I have of my buddy Catfish! He was an incredible man! I will also cherish my recent visit with him where we walked down a very humorous memory lane! What a great memory! Even though we will miss Catfish terribly, I am confident that Monty was thrilled to welcome him home. Pat, Cheryl, Keith, and the entire family, I am praying for you during this difficult time. May the Lord give you peace and rest. I love you all!

We offer our sincere condolences to all the Gilmore family. I can personally say that once I left from visiting with Mr. Bud the world always seemed to be a better place. He was the first person I met on Terral Island and we shared many conversations. He had a way of making each of us feel special--he will be greatly missed by all. Even though years have past the memories are fresh in my mind about all of the things Mr. Casey did to help the Grafton girls. With my Daddy working away from home every time something went wrong we called Mr. Casey. He was always there to help with a smile on his face. I cherish the memories. I just wish I had been able to see the love he felt when Monty welcomed him in to the Pearly Gates. Sending my prayers and thoughts to Mrs. Pat and the entire family.
