Clyde Michael Bates, 63, of Crossroads LA, went to his heavenly home on December 4, 2020. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Eugene Brown and Pastor Robbie Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 PM until time of service.
Mike was born January 5, 1957 to Clyde B. Bates and Georgia Faye Martin Bates. He grew up in McComb, MS, where he graduated from North Pike High. He excelled both academically and in sports. Mike met his wife in Port Gibson, MS and then moved to Northeast LA. He was employed at Tennessee Gas-Kinder Morgan as a Lead Technician in West Monroe for 38 years where he met many friends. He retired in July of this year. Mike enjoyed his closet buddies sitting around his camp or planning their next deer hunt or running beagles. Recently, he found some high school friends on facebook and enjoyed catching up.
His greatest accomplishment and trophies were his 4 daughters. They along with his wife were his next breath of air.
Mike is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kim Capri Eubanks Bates; four daughters, Chasity Bates Albritton and her husband Michael of West Monroe, LA, Casie Bates Parker and her husband Daniel of Farmerville, LA, Amber Bates Saterfiel and her husband Logan of West Monroe, LA, and Laynie Bates Roan and her husband Josh of West Monroe, LA; eleven grandchildren, Michael Tyler Albritton, Grayson Todd Albritton, Emma Grace Albritton, Jaxon Bates Parker, Kipton Patton Parker, Navy Rose Parker, Abigail Reese Saterfiel, Anistyn Kate Saterfiel, Livian Rayne Saterfiel, Joshua Crew Roan and Caraline Capri Roan; his dad Clyde B. Bates and wife Louise of Tylertown, MS; sister, Beverly and husband Mike Eymard of Cutoff, LA; mother-in-law, Ann Eubanks of Monroe, LA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Monica Greer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Todd and Linda Eubanks-Grayson of West Monroe, LA; and numerous precious nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Parker, Michael Albritton, Jeremy Hobbs, Tyler Albritton, Josh Roan, Logan Saterfiel, Grayson Albritton, Jaxon Parker and Crew Roan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his lifelong friend David Fife and the men at Tennessee Gas-Kinder Morgan
Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in hopes of finding a cure for Mike’s granddaughter Abby Saterfiel.
