This is so sad to me. Mickey and Clair lived in Dallas and would come to spend the weekend with us after Mama and Charlie got married. They both will never know how much life, laughter and love they brought to our house. We would stay up all night playing games, usually the new game they brought to us! We laughed and laughed and had more fun! It was like Christmas every time they came because the entire weekend would be filled with fun, fun, fun!! My sisters and I still talk about them and the wonderful memories they gave us. He was our step brother but he was so much more than that! He was the breath of fresh air and our house would be like a whirl wind of fun! I will never forget the trips in my VW Super Beetle that I made to Dallas to spend the weekends with them. They introduced us to tacos! We had never had them before! I could go on and all but all I can say is Mickey had a wonderful laugh and was the best big brother to us all. I will never forget him as long as I live. I’m so sad that he didn’t want a service but that was Mickey! Fly high, Big Guy, and I hope you make so many hole in ones that you lose count! We will see you again!

Dear Justin, Tess and Family, My twin brother Bruce and I spent most of our high school years with Mickey, whether it was a Saturday night, a baseball game, hunting or even working together during the Summer. We also pledged Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Louisiana Tech together. I clearly remember visiting Micky in Mississippi after the tragic auto accident, when he was the lone survivor. I believe he was in the Marines at that time. I could write a book about our friendship and am sorry that we did not have more opportunity to spend time with each other in our later years. What great memories. During the late 60's and early 70's, he was like a brother to me and my brother as well as many other high school buddies. The last time I was with Mickey was in 2019 when I was in West Monroe along with a bunch of us old high school baseball players were going to visit an old friend who was ill. I will always remember Mickey's kindness and his love of life. I pray that your sadness will soon be replaced only by your fond memories of Mickey and his love for you. Steve Betts (and my wife Jennifer)
