Michael Lee Bailey, Sr. went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 29,2016 at 6:52 pm. at the age of 65. Mike fought lung cancer and won, but passed from a long hard battle with lung disease. Mike enjoyed many things in life, and sports were certainly near the top of the list. His early years were spent on the softball fields of West Monroe and Monroe. Later he enjoyed tournament fishing with great friends and especially enjoyed the days he fished with his son-in-law, Shannon. Then his love for golf began. He spent countless hours on the course with many good friends and his son, Michael. Mike cherished every lesson and every minute he spent with his son. Mike's daughters, Angel and Casie, didn't share a lot of sports with him but what ever they wanted him to do, he happily tagged along just to spend time with them. In the last several years of his life, he and his wife, Cindy, shared and enjoyed racing sports and attended several NASCAR races. While they shared the sport, they did not share a favorite driver. It didn't matter, Mike and Cindy were always a team. Mike loved to travel and found the perfect career the last years off his life. He was a senior right-of-way agent in the Oil and Gas Industry. He and Cindy traveled and lived in several states while working. He got to experience many places and fun things to do while moving place to place. He met many people on this journey who became close friends that he continued friendships with until he passed. Mike and Cindy traveled with their son to Hawaii, They traveled to the mountains with his daughters, Angel and Casie, and months before he passed , Mike spent a short and careful vacation with his daughter Casie and her family to the beaches of Florida. Mike enjoyed his life, but what he enjoyed, and what mattered most was his large family. His wife, children, and grandchildren, he felt, were his greatest gifts from God. Far and above all things he accomplished, his family far exceeded all of those. He always said that his happiest and most proud moments in his life, were when he was in the presents of his family. That is the exact way he left this earth, with his family surrounding him. Again, happy and proud.Mike was preceded in death by his father George Rosco Bailey.
