Mrs. Merlie Lenora Pylant Kilpatrick Funeral Home Farmerville, LA On August 2nd, 2011, our beloved Merlie Lenora Pylant was taken home to be with her Lord and Savior where she was reunited with her Mother, Father, and sister Mary Reeves. Merlie is survived by her loving husband Herbert R. Pylant; two daughters, Lisa Caruso husband Joe Calhoun, LA, and Cherrie Edwards husband Gary; granddaughter Penny Johnson; two great grandsons Marlin Johnson and Wade Johnson, Aransas Pass, TX; sister Yvonne Reeves; brother-in-law Frederick Reeves, Bernice, LA; step-brothers Meyer Spencer wife Nell of Rocky Branch, LA, and Eldridge Spencer, Eldorado, AK; and many nephews and nieces with family and friends. Merlie was born on March 21, 1933 and grew up in the Evergreen community of Bernice, Louisiana. She was an Air Force military wife for twenty years while living in Germany, France, and several cities in Texas. In 1970, she moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she worked with her husband in the hotel/restaurant business. In 1989, she reestablished residency once again in the Evergreen community with her family and friends she so dearly loved. She took great pleasure in being a life time member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, crafting, and antiquing with her sisters. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter and great grandsons. She was a blessing to us all.
