Graveside services for Mrs. Mattie F. Gilmore McCrary, 88, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the family cemetery adjacent to Cheniere Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Mickey Bounds will officiate under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.Mrs. McCrary was born July 18, 1928 in Pittsburg, TX and passed away June 8, 2017 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quentin Steve McCrary; brothers, Nalda Gilmore and Carter Gilmore. Mrs. McCrary was retired from the Office of Family Services with the State of Louisiana. She was a member of Cheniere Baptist Church for over 50 years.Mrs. McCrary is survived by her 3 children; Bonnie Cole, Becky Axen and husband Mike, and Quent McCrary; 3 grandchildren, Keith Axen, Zakary McCrary and Taylor McCrary.Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Cheniere Baptist Church West Monroe.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.comKilpatrick Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA

Mattie Francis Gilmore McCrary was my sister Evelyn Garland Albritton's best friend at OPHS in the '40s. There was always an air of excitement at our house when Sister Eve announced that Mattie Francis would be coming home from school with her. I remember her as being full of fun and a beautiful person and I am sorry to hear of her passing.
