Funeral services for Mrs. Marzee White Mitcham, age 93 of Ruston, will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Temple Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Dale Oden officiating. Burial will follow at Pines Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Mrs. Mitcham was born in Castor, LA on February 16, 1920 and passed away in Ruston, LA on November 27, 2013. Mrs. Mitcham was a long time active member of Temple Baptist Church for over 77 years. She enjoyed her Round Table Book Club, WMU, and flower arranging for which she received many awards. She taught English and Math at Ruston Jr. High and Ruston High School. Mrs. Mitcham was the business manager for Mitcham Peach Orchard for many years. She prepared delicious meals daily for her family and employees at the Orchard. Mrs. Mitcham was a loving wife and wonderful mother, grandmother, and mother in law. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Edward Mitcham, Sr.; son, Arnold Mitcham; and 6 siblings. She is survived by her children: Janet Sue Mitcham Gambrell and husband, Danny Ray; Joe Edward Mitcham, Jr. and wife, Cynthia; 4 grandchildren: Philip Gambrell and wife, Dana; Jan Marie Thompson and husband, Rob; Dr. Laura Mitcham and husband, Edward Richmond; and Sarah Mitcham; Great Grandchildren: Natalie Gambrell, Sean Gambrell, Braydon Thompson, and Peyten Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Ruston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Northern Louisiana Medical Center, and Dr. Tom Morris. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 1 P.M. till time of service at the Temple Baptist Church Chapel.
