Maryellen Airy ColvinKilpatrick Funeral HomeRuston, LAMaryellen Airy Colvin, 91, of Ruston went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on February 26th. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30, Friday, February 27th. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 28th, all at New Hope Baptist Church, Choudrant, LA. Maryellen was born on January 21, 1924 in Rochester, NY and grew up in Macedon Center, NY. She married James W Colvin of Ruston on July 2, 1952. She graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and Cornell University. Maryellen served as a member of the Women Army Air Corps in World War II and later served as a Second Lieutenant in the US Women Air Force during the Korean War. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Women's Department Club of Ruston.She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him all the days of her life. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, James, of sixty-two years; four children: James H Colvin and wife, Debbie, of Winnfield; Kittie Colvin Trail and husband, Randy, of Paris, France; Benjamin Thomas Colvin and wife, Carol, of Natchitoches; and Margaret Colvin Graham of Decatur, AL. “Maw maw” is loved by grandchildren: Shelley Colvin Franklin and husband Jake, Suzy Colvin Nations and husband Lane, B.J. Colvin and wife Hollie, Jason Earl Colvin and wife Hailey, Cody McClain Colvin and wife Julia, Benjamin Randall Trail, Patrick James Trail, Thomas Wesley Trail, Kelly Celeste Graham Thomas and husband Cino, Mary Katherine Graham and Scott Peterson Graham; great grandchildren; Davis Lilly Franklin, Maverick Jameson Franklin, Parker Addisyn Nations, Emmersyn Lane Nations, Rylie Jean Nations, Finley Anne Nations, Avery Elizabeth Colvin, Audrey Kate Colvin, Addyson Grace Colvin, Kathryn Jane Colvin and James David Colvin; brother: James Harbou Airy of Walworth, NY; and a sister, Helen Airy Farr of Definance, OH and many nieces and nephews.
