Mary Lynn Abell Bryant lovingly known as “Mimi” passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on September 18, 2024. A native of Welsh, Louisiana, Mom left and attended USL in Lafayette where she met the love of her life, Bunzy Bryant. After attending several universities she graduated from NLU (now UL Monroe). Mom and Dad married on November 2, 1970. They then moved to Monroe to start their life and raise their family. While Mom did many things outside of the home, our remembrance of Mimi is her natural beauty, smile and her honest and fierce personality. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and a doting grandmother who adored her grandchildren. Her light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jackie and Bill Abell and sister Jan Abell, as well as mother and father in law Mary Myrtle and Earl Bryant, and brothers in law Billy Bryant and Bobby Bryant.
Mimi is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bunzy Bryant, her children, Clint Bryant (Allison) and Elizabeth Salas (JJ). Also surviving her are grandchildren Brock Bryant (Kayla), Amanda Bryant, Mary Elizabeth Bryant, Caroline Reed, Isabelle Reed, Kalani and Malia Salas, and George, Samuel and Annabelle Webb; great-grandchildren, Kit Bryant, Leo Koestler and Kate Koestler; Mimi’s uncle Joe McCulla, brother Chuck Abell (Dianne), sisters, Ellen Carter (Chuck) and Donna Abell and sister in law Mary Lou Bryant and numerous nieces and nephews will mourn her passing as well.
Our family would like to thank Ascend Hospice, Charlotte McNeal and Charlies Angels for the care extended to our Mom during her last days.
Thank you to all of our friends, who offered up prayer, brought food and helped in anything and everything we needed.
In the spirit of Bunzy and Lynn’s personality and wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life Cocktail party at a later date to honor their lives and friendships.
To honor Mom, please consider a gift to the Tarver Braddock Foundation at https://tarverbraddockfoundation.org/
Proverbs 31:25-29
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”
We will Love you always and forever…….
