Funeral services for Mary Josephine McCarty will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick’s Funeral Home in West Monroe. Officiating the service will be Bro. Art Beebe.
Mary was born July 29, 1930 in Oakalona, Mississippi and passed away May 11, 2022 in her home in West Monroe. She was an active outdoors lady that loved hunting, fishing, camping, her flower beds and gardening. She quilted for many years. She watched the Saints with her husband of 60 years. She loved when family gathered at home for holidays and Sunday dinners. Mary was preceded in death by husband Jessie Odell McCarty; son Jessie Wade McCarty; daughter and son-in-law Kim and Dennis Alford; parents William and Emma McRea; 5 brothers, 5 sisters and one great grandson.
Mary is survived by her son Clayton Odell McCarty (Judy) ; daughter Emma Gail Covington (David); daughter-in-law Linda McCarty ;special nephew Don McCarty and special foster daughter Angie Mitchell and Evalynn Kirk; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Patrick (Rusty), Jessica McCarty (Michael), Susie McClain (James), Brandi Battaglia (Joey), Aubrey Carpenter(Meg), Jennifer Weaver(Jeremy), Marissa Hemphill (Tiff)and Danielle Sutherland (Brandon); 16 great-grandchildren Emily Mims (Tyler), Caleb McManus (Audrey), Hannah Battaglia, Joseph Battaglia (Livv), Jacob Weaver, Makalen Carpenter (John), Jackson Weaver; Rosemary Battaglia, Andrew McClain; Natalie Battaglia, Allie Prince, Jailey Weaver, Jessa Hayes , Averi Hayes, Maddox Hayes and Bentley Sutherland; 1 great-great grandchild Jakalen Carpenter.; numerous family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
