Mary Jo was born May 14, 1931 in Union Parish and passed away May 17, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Leaving behind to celebrate her memory are her daughter, Debbie Gates Dickerson; son, Dusty Gates and wife Camille; grandchildren, Kristy Smith, Kelley Gates and wife Rebecca, Morgan Lowery and husband Kyle and Stacie Watts and husband Joe. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, Justin Stripling (Cassie), Kassie Miller (Gary), Noa and Riley Gates, Sadie and Ella Lowery, Clay, Caleb and Carson Watts and four great-great-grandchildren, Hollan, Thorne and Khloee Stripling, and Adelynn Miller; two sisters, Lila Simpson and Pat Jordan and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
