Funeral services for Mary “Jean” Batson, 81, of Monroe, will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe. Bro. Andy Wyrick will officiate and interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Mary was born on September 28, 1940 in a Rayville, LA and passed away on June 12, 2022 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church in Monroe and worked with the Friends of the Library, also as a cafeteria worker and personal care giver.  Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Batson and her parents, Lewis and Mary Deggans.

She is survived by her sons, Carl Batson and wife, Cheryl and Robert Batson and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Megan Batson, Adam Batson (Summer) and Ashley Peterson; great-grandchildren, Ariel, Avery and Aaron Batson; sister, Diane Mann.

Jean loved the Lord and her family.  She enjoyed fishing, reading books, watching TV and working in her garden.  She also loved cooking and providing food for her family.
