Glenda’s family is very thankful of the care received from Natalie from Louisiana Hospice Care. The family is also especially appreciative of Glenda’s sitters: Janice, Augusta, and Charlene.
Glenda spent her childhood in Sikes, Olla, and West Monroe, LA where she always had fond memories of her three cousins Barbara Ewing, Sheila Thurman, and Evelyn Arnold.
She graduated in 1957 from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute (LA Tech) and landed a new job at the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL due to her chemistry, mathematics, and German studies. The Redstone Arsenal was associated with the early years of space exploration. This job opened up another new world-the world of the computer! She became an expert systems analyst and computer programmer locally for NLU, Riverwood, and after retiring, her church.
Glenda was the epitome as of a southern lady with a beautiful smile and a caring heart. She was devoted to God, family, church, and friends and was a wonderful witness to all of us. She was a lifelong student of the Holy Bible, teaching Sunday School for years and thus many refer to her as “their Sunday School teacher”. She also loved watching the New Orleans Saints with her grandchildren Katie and Kirk.
