Marshall Lee Breland passed peacefully from the arms of his beloved wife into the arms of his beloved Savior early Sunday morning, April 7, at his home in Alto, LA. His lengthy battle with cancer is now over. Marshall is survived by his wife of 45 years, Melody Latham Breland, two sons® Marshall Shane Breland and wife, Heather of Summerville, SC, and Michael Kennedy of Monroe, LA; two daughters, Emily Breland Lehigh and husband Dustin of Florence MS, and Angela Marie Flowers of Monroe, LA. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Mathew and Hannah Breland and Julia and Hudson Lehigh. Marshall is survived by three brothers, Wendell Breland of Ridgecrest, LA, Doyle Breland of Natchez, MS, and Noel Breland of Clayton, LA; and one sister, Carolyn LuShute and husband, Julian of Ferriday, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Curtis and IvaLee Higginbotham Breland, formerly of Clayton, LA and two sisters, Evelyn Crawford, formerly of Foules, LA and Cathy Joyce Breland, formerly of Clayton, LA. Mr. Breland was a founding board member for the Ruston Girls Softball Association and was also a foster parent for the LA Office of Community Services for eighteen years. He led a quiet, simple life of service to others and will be greatly missed. There will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for family and friends at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. Visitation will also be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral at 12:00 PM at the same location, with Randy Tuminello of Longview, TX officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Natchez, MS at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.Memorials may be made to Grace Place Ministries in Monroe, LA or Families Helping Families of NELA in Monroe, LA.Pallbearers are Blane Breland, Leon Hines, Tony Lambert, Steve Minton, Huey Moak, and Greg Sadler.
