Carrie Downs left a message on August 18, 2020:
I often said about Sister Marlene that she looked and seemed younger than she was. I believe the reason is that she kept her mind and body active and tried her best to never let age slow her down. Her gentle, kind and calming presence was an inspiration. My prayers are with her family and all who knew and loved her and will be missing that presence in their lives.

Rest In Peace Aunt Marlene! I will never forget how you enjoyed making my favorite smothered Pork Chops! All the family get togethers at yours and Uncle Ed’s house growing up! Thank you for being such a sweet lady!

Marlene, you were a dear friend. I'll miss you when I go to the church on Monday mornings. Sure had fun flickering your lights and hearing, "Jim's here!". Until we meet again; Jim.
