Funeral Services for Mr. Mark O. Holtzclaw, age 77 of Ruston, will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Greg Tipton and Rev. M.F. Copeland will officiate with burial to follow in the Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Mr. Holtzclaw was born in Farmerville, LA on August 20, 1935 and passed away in Ruston, LA on December 22, 2012 following a brief illness. Mr. Holtzclaw was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was also a mason. He worked at Highlines Construction Co. for about 50 years before retiring. He loved his Lord, his family, and his friends. Mr. Holtzclaw also enjoyed working outside, fishing, gardening, and taking care of his cows. He was preceded in death by his father Millard Lee Holtzclaw, mother Leady Craighead Holtzclaw Dillard and sister Fern Ivy. He is survived by his wife: Jo Ann Holtzclaw of Ruston; children: Tony Holtzclaw & wife Rita of Ruston; Cindy Porter & husband, Steve of Shreveport; and Debbie Brister & husband Randy of Ruston; grandchildren: Stephen Holt Porter, Sarah Chea Porter, Nathan Colvin & wife Wendy, Kacie Holtzclaw, Shelby Holtzclaw; great grandchildren: Maddie Colvin and Charlie Colvin; siblings: Travis Holtzclaw and wife Noby of Haughton, Pete Holtzclaw of TN, Vollie Cook of Ruston, Rozena Murphy of TX, Lunell Duke of Dubach, Jean Futrell and husband Barlow of Dubach, and his dog and companion, Lucy; 6 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Troy Smalling, Don Jacks, Lane Martin, Jackie Frazier, James Sawyer, and James Roane. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 5 – 8 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Planned memorials may be made to the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
