My condolences to your family. Marjorie was such a sweet, dear lady, and I enjoyed so much getting to know her. She was a wonderful friend and companion to my dad, Jim Peters, and they had many good times together. I have fond memories of her Christmas visit with us here at our home in Athens, Georgia. I am so glad to have known Marjorie. I am comforted that she walked into the arms of her loving Savior, and is safe at home now.

Although I grew up many, many miles away from mamaw...it truly was the memories I made with her that brought me through some of my darkest times. The summers I'd would spend with my sister in my hometown of West Monroe were never long enough... Mamaw taught me how to make the best hot water cornbread and catfish, the best peach cobbler and sweet tea. She also taught me not to "smack" while at the table for supper. Haha! I learned the best housekeeping skills from her, not limited to the house, but also gardening. She taught me to keep the faith and, in fact, taught me how to praise God through song! .."Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," She would sing to me with her arm wrapped around me while stroking my hair on her old swing in the backyard..it would take all my cares away ,and to this day, I can feel her and hear her sing that to me. I sing it to both my babies to this very day. She never judged me and always made me and my little sister feel safe and loved. She was the mamaw of ALL mamaws and will be truly missed on this Earth for the light that she gave. I find comfort in knowing she is not deceased, but only moved on into a higher plain..she loved God, and she is now eternal. I love you,my sweet mamaw. We all do and always will. God bless us all, in the name of Mamaw Marjorie's memory. She would want us all to love one another. ..
