Funeral services for Marilyn Stringer Edwards, 94, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Pastor Randy Burdeaux will officiate and interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Marilyn was born on June 27, 1928 in Jena, Louisiana and passed away on January 12, 2023 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a longtime member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter W. Edwards; son, Glenn W. Edwards; grandson, Ryan Simon; parents, Ben and Bertha Stringer; brothers, Robert Stringer, Guy Stringer, Henry Stringer; sisters, Violet Hudson and Opal Taylor.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Sandra Simon and husband René; daughter-in-law, Lee Edwards; grandchildren, Dr. John Dexter “Jodey” Edwards and wife Kristi, Dustin Simon; great-grandchildren, Ethan Wayne Edwards, Ella Grace Edwards, Devin Renee Davis and husband Austyn; great-great-granddaughter, Halle Joy Davis; brother, Lamar Stringer and wife Vickie; sister, Liz Crooks and husband Louis; and many other cherished family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Randy Shultz, Brian Harris, Michael Lindsay, Kelvin Broom, Quint Lenard, and Rick Hendricks.

Honorary Pallbearer is Clint Lenard.
