Funeral services for Marilyn Mae “Tonka” Self Green, 86 of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Daniel Goodman will officiate. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Marilyn was born October 17, 1926 in Braggadocio, Missouri and passed away June 11, 2013 in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Green; sons; Johnny Green and Stanley Green; son-in-law, Clint James; grandkids; Shawn, Christopher, Craig and Wendy; great grandchild, Cody Allen Copeland; brothers; Claude, Mack, Ernest; sisters; Audrey, Darlene and Sue. Marilyn was a member of First Baptist Church West Monroe. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was always there when her children needed her. Marilyn always spoke her mind and whether you liked it or not, we always knew where she stood on all issues. Her favorite saying was “everyone wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to get on that bus.” Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Kay Powell and husband, Wayne, Janis James, Jeannie Cook and husband, Floyd, Susie Green, son, Billy Green and wife, Kathy; daughter-in-law, Susie Cunningham Green; 20 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bob Howze, Jr., Steven Green, Robbie Metcalf, Mike Green, Kenny Green and Eric Green. Honorary are pallbearers Joe Powell, Chris Gill, Rocky Rice, and Jason Howze.
