I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Marie. When I was a baby my parents lived in a duplex with them on Chautauqua St. I remember her from the hospital when I first started as a nurse. She was such a sweet lady.

I worked with Marie, just as Nancy Newell did, way back in the day at Lincoln General. If there was a question about Medicaid or if someone had a problem or question regarding the filing of a Medicaid claim Marie was the go to person for many, many years. Clara Taylor (Medicare), Bettie (Sid) Colvin (regular insurance), Marie Burgess (Medicaid), Dorothy Edmiston (credit collections) and Audrey Strozier (switchboard), all these women ran the day to day operations of that business office and each one of them were extremely knowledgeable about their jobs. Marie had a dry sense of humor and she helped make Lincoln General a fun place to work in the late 1970's and early 1980's for many of us that were students at the time.

I’m so sad to hear of Marie’s passing. I worked with Marie at my first job at Lincoln General admissions when I was a high school senior. Marie took me under her wing and mentored me when I was young and shy. We remained good friends for many years. Marie was a wonderful person and always had a smile and a happy attitude. She loved her family and loved life. This world and myself are better because of Marie! Praying for her family during this time. RIP Marie..I love you!
