Funeral service for Marguerite Dumas Otwell, age 85 of Quitman, La.,  will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Sweetwater Baptist Church in Quitman, La. Rev. Stuart Toms will officiate with interment to follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Friday, June 18, 2021, from 5:00 ~ 8:00 P.M. at Sweetwater Baptist Church.

Mrs. Otwell was born on November 1, 1935 in Vienna, La. and passed away on June 17, 2021 in Shreveport, La.  She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Francis Dumas, son Steve Otwell, special aunt and uncle, Irene and Lucian Coker and sister, Shirley McGuire.

Marguerite is survived by her husband Curtis Otwell and her children; Dennis Otwell (Barbara), and Pat Reed.  Her siblings are Nelwyn George, Ragen Dumas and Robert Dumas.  Marguerites’ grandchildren:  Syble Deal (Brian), Sallie Fenn (Anthony), Burt Reed, Kendall Reed, Nathan Reed, and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Nathan Reed, Burt Reed, Gabe McMillian, Bryan McMillian, Johnny McMillian and Camden Deal.
