Graveside service for Margaret Yvonne Hodges Thompson, age 82 of Dubach, LA., will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at Vienna Cemetery.  Dr. Reggie Bridges and Rev. Dale Oden will officiate.  Visitation will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM. Interment will be at Vienna Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Margaret was born on April 8, 1939 in Pine Grove, LA.  She passed away on June 30, 2021 in Ruston, LA., following a lengthy illness.  She had retired from Bell South with 40 years of service.  She then received her LPN designation.  Margaret went on to Bossier Community College where she received an Associate Degree in Biology, when she was in her mid 70’s.  She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano. One of Margaret’s passions was to serve others and she did so with her family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elliott and Quida Whitehead Hodges, brothers, Alton Hodges, Silas Hodges, Nolan Hodges, Woodroe Hodges, Sam Hodges, and DeWitt Hodges, sisters, Eleanor McBridge, Elaine Goynes and Glynette Bedwell.

She is survived by her husband; Tom Thompson, two sons; Dr. Douglas Paul Thompson of Duluth, MN and Dr. Daniel Pearce Thompson of Choudrant, LA.,  also, three grandchildren; Lachlan Thompson, Roan Thompson and Anna Skye Thompson, and two sisters; Kate Nell Cockerham and Sue Phillips, numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church – Journey Place, 1515 S. Service Road West, Ruston, LA.  71270.
