Funeral services for Margaret Clark Daulton, 78, of Ruston, LA will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at The Gospel Inc. Ministries, located at 108 Sanctuary Road, Ruston, LA. Officiating the service will be Rev. Allen Upshaw and Rev. David Buckley. Interment will follow in Douglas Cemetery in Choudrant, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
A Visitation will be prior to the service at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Margaret Clark Daulton was born on November 20, 1945, in Vicksburg, MS to Mr. and Mrs. B.E. “Jack” Clark. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at her home in Ruston surrounded by family as her grandson Joseph played her favorite worship songs on the piano.
Margaret was a graduate of Sarepta High School and Louisiana Tech University, culminating in a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. Her entire life from that point forward was focused on children and ministry. First a schoolteacher, then a full-time homemaker, Margaret co-founded The Gospel, Inc. where she ministered alongside her husband for nearly 50 years. She also established The Gospel Camp for Boys in 1982 and The Gospel Camp for Girls in 1994, reaching hundreds of young people over the past 42 years.
Additionally, Margaret served as the Executive Director of The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Louisiana from 1999-2001, re-establishing the local club and securing and renovating its current home. She also was instrumental in establishing the Piney Hills Sexual Assault Center. Margaret was honored as Louisiana’s Mother of the Year by American Mothers, Inc. in 2000, a special honor as she was a spiritual mother to many.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a mentor to countless others outside of her immediate family. She was a prayer warrior, and her desire was to see those around her come to know the joy she knew through her relationship with Jesus Christ. Even as a young woman, she was able to see the leadership potential in others and draw that quality out of them. Many lives were changed because of her influence.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margaret Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Daulton, daughter Jennifer Ham and husband Jay, son Steven Daulton and wife Rebecca, grandchildren Joseph and Joanna Ham, Matthew, Joshua, and Hannah Daulton, brother Tom Clark, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Ham, Matthew Daulton, Joshua Daulton, Benjamin Upshaw, Jimmy Williams, and Ty Ary.
Memorials may be made to The Gospel Camps or the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Louisiana.
