Lydia Jayde Bourgeois passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on May, 8, 2021 and is now at peace in her eternal home. A beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and niece, she was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Lydia was born on November 21, 1999. She enjoyed spending time with her brothers, shopping with her mother, having fun with her father on the river and she aspired to be a cosmetologist.
Lydia was preceded in death by her maternal great grandmother, Lydia LeClercq (her namesake); maternal grandparents, James and Linda LeClercq Benoit; and George and Brenda Hebert; paternal grandfather, John Bourgeois; paternal great grandparents, Elmer and Mercedes Bourgeois; paternal great grandfather Joseph “Poppie” Grezaffi; uncle, Steve Benoit; cousins, Raquel Benoit and Chris Bienvenue. She is survived by her mother, Eve Gilcrease and stepfather, Eddie Gilcrease; father Chad Bourgeois; paternal grandmother, Sharon Bourgeois; great grandmother, Maudrie Grezaffi; brothers Peyton and Christian Cummings; niece, Adalyn Claire Cummings and cousin Cora Singer. She was also adored by her numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was truly the light of their lives.
Although overwhelmingly heartbroken, Lydia’s family will rely on their Heavenly Father to get through the grief of her death. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe with Fr. Frank Coens and Fr. Matt Lorrain officiating. Visitation for the family will be at 10:00 am, guest visitation will be 10:30 – 11:30 am, followed by a Mass at 11:30 am. A private family Christian burial will take place afterwards at St. Pashcal Cemetery.
