Sam was my cousin, although I never got to meet him. His grandfather, Seburn Burson, and my great grandfather, James Asbury Burson, were brothers. I found Sam and his wife Mary through family history research. They were of great help to me. Such nice people, I feel his loss deeply. May he rest in peace.

Dear Mary, Calton, Martha and entire related Yeager Family, My condolences. Sam was always so nice and professional with me. I had the honor of working with Sam for many years at Central Bank. Sam was one of the finest bankers in our entire trade area. He was one of the nicest, finest human beings I have ever known. He lived his beliefs. Well done. I think this of the entire Yeager I know. I have made a memorial contribution in his name to Forsythe Avenue Beautification for one of the Redbud Trees in front of Parkview Babtist Church in Monroe in the Forsythe Avenue boulevards. If there is anything I can do please just let me know. Sincerely yours, Steve Mintz

Dear Yeager family, I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Sam's passing but I know that he is finally at rest with the Lord and his family. I will never forget his smile or the friend that he was to my dad, Monroe Parker. He always had a smile and a kind word. I will pray for peace and comfort for you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Susan Parker Harris

Such a fine, caring, Christian man! It was my pleasure to really get to know Mr. Sam when he came to work at Kilpatrick's while I was employed there. He loved "Mrs. Hilda" so very much and missed her greatly when she went home, but he was excited to have Mary come into his life...and Randy's life. He always spoke with love of Laurie and Randy. He will be missed by so many people, of whom I am one.
John Huntsman left a message on August 15, 2011:
I think I spent more time at the Yeager's house growing up than I did at my own. Mr. Sam always treated me like one of his own, always left me with a smile and made sure we stayed out of trouble. He touched so many lives and will be missed by so many. While I can't be there for the service, my thoughts, prayers and spirit will be there. Thank you Mr. Sam for being part of our lives.
