Loy Kenneth Heard Jr. was born February 18th 1952 and was called Home to our Heavenly Father on June 22nd 2020.
Born and raised in West Monroe, Louisiana, Loy lived a rich and fulfilled life. The majority of his life was spent in the construction industry, and his work contributed to the development of many commercial establishments locally and in surrounding areas, such as the Monroe Civic Center and the School of Nursing at the University of Louisiana, formally NLU.
During his younger years, he enjoyed participating in sports, namely football and golf. As an avid duck hunter, he spent much of his time in the duck blind with family and friends. He was a big fan of college football and was always up for a friendly game of cards. Though he was a history enthusiast,he greatly enjoyed indulging in science fiction novels and movies. Loy was a strong, determined man, who loved his family, friends and neighbors fiercely, and always offered help and support to those in need.His gentle side was shown through his love for his cats, CJ and Boudreaux, while his greatest accomplishment was the role of a caring, supportive father and fun, loveable Granddaddy. His newest and greatest love was his only grandson, Bishop Lipsmeyer, who he cherished more than life itself.
Loy is preceded in death by his father, Loy K. Heard Sr. and mother, Stacy B. Heard. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lipsmeyer, son in-law, Kevin Lipsmeyer, grandson Bishop Lipsmeyer, and his siblings,Hillary Kasbarian and husband, Charlie, of Richardson, Texas, Marcia Spillers of Austin, Texas, and Brian Heard and wife, Paige, of Cedar Park, Texas, his nieces and nephews, Christy Kasbarian, Michael Kasbarian, Jackson Heard, and Jake Heard. Pallbearers will be family and friends. He will be forever loved, forever missed, and remembered as a loving man.

A celebration of Loy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday June 26, 2020 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. James Tate will officiate. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
