Lon Bass, 81, passed from this life into eternity with our Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019. He was born January 1, 1938 in Ruston, LA to Lewie and Omega Bass. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary; daughters Martha Bass, Laurie Reed (David), and Karen Borne (Ryan); son Christopher Bass (Jen); and 5 precious grandchildren: Eli, Adeline, James Ryan, Hudson, and Brady.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loy Byrd; and brother, James Bass.Lon was a graduate of West Monroe High School and Louisiana Tech University. He worked for LP&L/Entergy for 36 years.A celebration of Lon life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the church with services following under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Interment will be at Kilpatrick's Memorial Gardens (formerly Pines Memorial Gardens) in Ruston.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home or Temple Baptist Church Journey Place.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
