On Sunday July 15, 2012, Lodie Belle Meredith Stewart crossed over in her sleep to be with her departed loved ones. She was the fourth child of Willie Gregory Meredith and Irvine Meredith of Vixen, LA. She is survived by her sister and companion, Johnnie May Meredith Thomas who was her best friend. Her children are Gregory Meredith Posnick and his wife Ellen, of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Judith McDonald Riche of West Monroe, LA. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy! And her grandchildren are, Jeffrey Posnick and his wife Sheryl of Brooklyn, N.Y., Laurel I. McDonald White and her husband Jimmy Donavan White of Colfax, LA and Meredith Rose McDonald Smith and her husband Thomas Jason Smith of Monroe, LA. The great-grandchildren are Ella Rose Smith, John Evan Smith of Monroe, LA and Zachary Ansell Posnick of Brooklyn, N.Y. Lodie was a very unique and special person who loved to laugh and bring happiness to all who knew her. Her favorite pastime was to cook and sit down at the table with family and friends. We would like to thank her special cousin, Jean Gregory Elliott Plunk for always being there with a smile and words of inspiration. Ridgecrest Community Care Center was a wonderful place to stay and all of their staff was so kind and caring. Special thanks to Gloria, Carol, Dee and Nettie for their help and understanding. She was their Ray of Sunshine. Viewing will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of West Monroe, Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A celebration of her life will be at her daughter's home on Italiana Place Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5:00pm until 9:00 pm. Her interment will be a graveside at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Vixen, LA on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. Lodie loved wildflowers and requested that no flowers be sent. Remembrances may be sent to the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter on Well Road in West Monroe.
