Funeral services for Liz Blake, age 84, of Ruston, will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. B. Moore and Bill Cox officiating the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will begin at 1:30 P.M. until service time on Sunday.Mrs. Blake was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on September 21, 1931 and died on January 6, 2016 while visiting family in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She graduated from Ole Miss with a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy. Liz was a pharmacist for over 50 years in Monroe, LA at Twin City Drug, Gibson Pharmacy and Green Clinic Pharmacy in Ruston. She was a long time member at Cook Baptist Church and her love was her family, friends, and taking care of all. Liz is preceded in death by her husband Oscar M. Blake.Liz is survived by her children: Joyce Thompson and husband David of Colfax, LA; Mack Blake and wife Shayla of Ruston; Susan Aycock and husband Marion of Homer, LA; and Cindy Swanner and husband Gene of Hendersonville, NC; grandchildren: Tonya Aaron, Tricia Aaron, Abbey Boutwell and husband Ben, Anna Blake, Beth Liner and husband Jon, Becca Aycock, Hannah Aycock, Amanda Taylor and husband Eric, and Adam Swanner; and great-grandchildren: Jacob, Kaleb, Stephen, and Will.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Children Home, 901 South Vienna, Ruston, LA 71270.Pallbearers will be Steve Lee, Mike Wilkerson, John Neal, Gwin Edward, Phil Waltz, and Mac Ward.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
