Linda Jo Williams Lamkin passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 81 in Covington, LA. She was born on November 30, 1943, to Leonard and Jane Elmore Williams in Marshall, Texas.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel with interment at New Prospect Cemetery in Clay, LA.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Jane Wiliams, and by her beloved husband of 57 years, Edward Lamkin. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Moore (David) of Madisonville, LA; son Len Lamkin (Michelle) of Milton, GA; grandchildren Collin and Camille Lamkin; and sister Sandy Dion (David).
After graduating from Woodlawn High School, Linda attended Northwestern University where she met Ed, the love of her life. Linda worked as the secretary at Belle Chasse Middle School for many years where she was cherished by students and staff. Linda had a passion for reading and crafts, often found with a book or needlepoint project in hand. She also loved cooking and treasured the time spent sharing meals with her family around the dinner table.
Linda devoted her life to fellowship and service as a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron multiple times as well as Worthy Grand Matron for the state of Louisiana in 2005.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Avanti Senior Living for the compassionate care they provided to Linda these past two years and Heritage Manor where she spent her final months.
