Funeral services for Lillie Joyce Tanner Waggoner Albritton will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Sister Sonya Patterson will officiate. Interment will follow at God’s Rest, Downsville under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2025 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lillie Joyce Tanner Waggoner Albritton, who passed away January 15, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born on June 13, 1936, in Sibley, Louisiana, Lillie Joyce grew up in Downsville, married and moved all over with her first husband, eventually settling again in Downsville.  She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husbands’, George and Milton, and a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren, great-grands and great-great-grands.

Lillie Joyce lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents.  She loved cooking and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings, especially her hummingbird cake.  She also had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden and her chickens.  Lillie Joyce enjoyed reading her Bible, doing puzzles, playing Snood on her smartphone, sewing and crochet.

Lillie Joyce was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own.  Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and opening her home to anyone who needed a place to stay.  Lillie Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Albritton.

Lillie Joyce is survived by her children, Pati Gulat (Joe), Tim Waggoner (Julie), Carol Waggoner (Clint Hortman), Gerry Waggoner (Rebecca), Tracy Traynor (Karl);  12 grandchildren;  numerous great-grandchildren;  and 2 great-great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Rest in peace, precious momma.  You will forever be in our hearts.
