Lillian Adine Wheeler peacefully passed away Saturday, December 14th at Guest House Nursing Home in West Monroe. She was born April 2, 1925 the only child born to Lillian Glenn and Joseph Cunningham Wheeler, in Jackson, TN.Adine received her education in Jackson and attended Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi. She transferred to Northeast Louisiana in Monroe, where she received a degree in library science and made Monroe her home. Miss Wheeler worked for the library system in Monroe for several decades, helping those around her. She spent most of her work hours in the genealogy area, which was her passion. Miss Wheeler had researched her family history back to the immigrant ancestors on all lines and assisted many cousins and friends in their family research. She was a member of the DAR and Colonial Dames XVII Century, serving as local and state officers in both societies. Miss Wheeler was a long time member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe.Adine will be missed by many, especially her good friends AJ and Jolynn Burns, who cared for her these past three years. Arrangements are through Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Graveside services will be conducted by Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home at noon December 28 at Oakland Cemetery in Trenton, TN.
