Funeral services for Lester Hammons of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 15, 2023 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe with Pastor Nick Wagner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Lester was born February 25, 1939 in Wilhite, LA and passed away May 10, 2023 in West Monroe. He was a long time member of Claiborne Methodist Church. Lester was a self employed welder and belonged to the Local Pipefitters Union. He served in the United States Army. Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Jean Wallace Hammons; parents Delton and Earline Hammons; and his brother Johnny Mack Hammons.

Lester is survived by his son Gary Hammons; sister Jean Kennedy; niece Marilyn Kennedy.

Serving as honorary pallbearers  Steven Cookston, William Cookston, Jerry Miller, Dan Varnado, Harrell Traylor, Bill Blackstock and Wayne Pruitt.
