Rev. Warren Robertson left a message on March 20, 2007:
I was an apprentice with Lester at the paper mill during the early 70's. He taught me alot about myself and my possiblilities. I always thought him to be a hard man. but he was a fair and just man who wanted us to learn all we could with as few mistakes as possible. I have come to realize my time with him was precious. His memory will be with me always even though I have been away from electrical work for a long time. His guidance and concern for me molded me into the man I am today. Thank you for sharing him with me. Rev. Warren Robertson Senior Pastor Hillside Church of God Prescott, Az

Lane, Christie, Keelan, Logan, and Zachery, Our hearts are filled with the deepest sympathy for you and your family on the passing of your father. Lane, although I only had the privilege of meeting your father on a couple of occasions, I saw a man with a gentle hand and a deep love for everyone he came in contact with. It was also obvious to me where you got the same traits. It is a difficult time and I pray that God will comfort you and give you peace. I also pray that you will surround yourselves with family and friends to rejoice all the pleasant memories you have of your father. Debbie and I regret that we could not be there for you. Please offer our sympathy to your family, especially your mother, and let us know if we can help in any way. Curtis, Debbie, Micah, Bryanna, and Chance Birdsong

Ann, Gary, Lane, and Karen--so sorry to hear of Mr. Travis passing--I am out of town and I truly wish I could be there personally, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. Mr. Travis was very instrumental in my upbringing as a child and on into my later years and I have many memories of how he would spare nothing to insure we knew right from wrong. We may have not wanted to hear it, but we knew if Mr. Travis said it we had better listen. Ann, I remember many times at your house while you, Mr.Travis, and my parents played Rook and my parents had many good memories of those times also. Gary, you were like a brother to me growing up, and we need to do a better job of keeping in touch, and having lost both of my parents, I very well know how you are feeling at this time and am here for you if you need, but let me close by saying to all of you, your memories of Mr. Travis will be with you always until you meet up with him again. God Bless all of you and I look forward to the time I can express my thoughts to you about Mr.Travis personally--Donnie--318-355-3272
