Funeral services for LaRue Allen, 81, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Point.  Bro. Bobby Kranz will officiate.  Interment will follow at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Point under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe.

LaRue was born January 12, 1943, in Farmerville, Louisiana and passed away on May 22, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.  She taught in the Union Parish and Ouachita Parish school systems for over 30 years and coached the Farmerville High School girls basketball team.  LaRue was a member of Caney Lake Baptist Church in Chatham, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her daughters, Karen Hearn and Rachel Hearn; husbands, James T. Hearn, Edward Barton; parents, Victor and Nell Allen; sister, Vickie Antley; and brother, Jimmie Allen.

LaRue is survived by her son, Jimmy Darren Hearn and his wife Sandra; daughter, Karen Lange and her husband Rupert; siblings, Mike Allen and his wife Marsha, Chloe Owens, Ann Halley and her husband Kent, Howard Allen and his wife Sherrie, Lynette Wade and her husband Percy; grandchildren, Dusty Thomas, Brittany Lange, Brook Lange, Rupert T. Lange, Randall Lange, Jacob Mathers, Brian Mathers, Victoria Mathers, Matthew Barton, Luke Barton;  great-granchildren, Joseph Mathers, Meredith Mathers and Sawyer Barton; along with many other cherished family and friends.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
