Mr. Larry used to patrol Eastgate Shopping Center in the mid 1970’s. I worked at Field’s at Eastgate during my college years (1975-1979) so he would always come inside and say hi, after all we were about to become kinfolk. I married his wife’s cousin, Mike Womble. I also heard him sing, the singing policemen came to our church several times.

I am so saddened to hear of Larry's death. What a role model he has been to many, many people. Beginning in my life, along with Claudine, he was my Sunday School teacher at Temple Baptist Church in Monroe. Always loved hearing him sing God's praises, from leading the choir and many Cantatas to "The Sounds of Praise". Oh, what memories. I thank God for his life and his witness. RIP, Larry. A job well done.
