Funeral services for Larry Bruce Rodgers will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Cedar Crest Baptist Church. Pastor Greg Clark will officiate. Interment will follow at Luna Assembly of God Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Larry Bruce Rodgers Bruce, 68, entered into eternal rest on the evening of April 21, 2013. Bruce was born August 26, 1944 to Warner and Hazel Rodgers in Columbia, LA. Bruce is the beloved husband of 47 years of Esther Rodgers, respected father of Jeff Rodgers, giving grandfather of Jordan Rodgers, and adored father-in-love of Tracie Rodgers. Bruce is additionally survived by brother Drexell Rodgers and his wife, Pat, brother Donald Rodgers, sister, Shirlene Herrington, and many nieces and nephews. He joins deceased brothers James Lee Rodgers and Dewayne Rodgers. Bruce is a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles of the United States Army. Bruce leaves behind many dear friends who provided much encouragement and comfort over the years, including the congregation of Cedar Crest Baptist Church, served by Pastor Greg Clark, where Bruce was a dedicated member the last 11 years. He also leaves behind many co-workers and customers in the retail meat business where he worked for Monogram Foods. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cedar Crest Baptist Church.
